Barbara Kimura Jones

Hi there! I’ve always been an animal lover, from domestic to wild. For the past 15+ years, I’ve been actively involved in dog and cat rescue, volunteering and fostering for various organizations in New Jersey and Puerto Rico. My husband and I had the privilege of fostering over 200 dogs and cats, and we continue to dedicate our time to rescue efforts.  My passion for dogs led me to enroll and pass the certification exam to become a certified dog trainer.

In addition to my dog training journey, I’m also an artist, crafter, motorcyclist, and a beginner ukulele and bass player and animal mom to two dogs and one bird.  I absolutely love creating and making anything and everything!

I’ve always been interested in dog sports but didn’t know where to start until I adopted my dog, Luke. He came to me at 1.5 years old, and it was evident that he had been mistreated in the past. Determined to build a strong bond and trust with him, I explored different options. I stumbled upon a Facebook post about Barn Hunt, which piqued my interest. Initially, I enrolled my older dog, Amber but she showed no interest. So, I decided to give Luke a try. Working with a dog with past trauma was challenging, but Dana and everyone at Stonehedge helped me build Luke’s confidence, trust, and excitement. We discovered something that truly bonded us.  We also are learning Rally and are pursuing other dog sports and could not be happier!

I’m thrilled to be a part of this team and can’t wait to bring you some exciting ideas for Barn Hunt merchandise!
