About Us

Hi, I’m Alyssa! I share my life with two dogs — Finn, an Australian Shepherd (2), and Avenger, a Beauceron (1). What started as a simple intro seminar a year and a half ago, quickly turned into a full-blown addiction for Barn Hunt! We’ve been hooked ever since!

Finn began his Barn Hunt journey just after turning 1 and went from earning his Novice title to achieving his RATCHX in only a year — an accomplishment I’m incredibly proud of. I can’t wait to see where this sport continues to take us. We are attending our first Regionals this year!

Avenger, affectionately known as “Baby Dog” around Stonehedge, recently began trialing and is already close to earning his Open title and moving up to Senior. Watching him gain confidence and develop his own style in the sport has been so rewarding. He loves being in the ring and always gets quite the laughs for being a big goofy guy.

Avenger and Finn are quite opposites in the ring at times, and I love how I get to work differently with each dog! And this is what I love most about Barn Hunt- the relationship it builds between dog and handler. This sport taught me how to truly have fun with my dogs while growing together as a team. The bond, trust, and teamwork we’ve developed through Barn Hunt is something really special to me.

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. Since graduating high school, I’ve worked with dogs as both a trainer and groomer while also pursuing a career in the medical field as an Ultrasound and Vascular Technician. I have worked in the medical field now for almost 10 years.

While we also participate in agility, conformation, dock diving, and other dog sports, Barn Hunt has absolutely become our favorite!

One of my biggest goals is to one day become a Barn Hunt judge and continue expanding my knowledge and involvement in the sport. I love watching teams grow together and seeing the connection between dogs and their people come alive in the ring.
